WHY START A TEAM?

INDIVIDUAL & TEAM SPORT

Develop and learn to compete on your own, but enjoy the benefits of being a part of a team.

CROSS TRAINING

Racquetball is a great workout!  It will help you prepare for other sports and ranks 2nd behind swimming as the most aerobic sport.

EVERYONE CAN PLAY

Cutting players isn’t necessary on a Racquetball Team.  Every person can have a spot on the squad.

WINTER SPORT

Provides an additional high school sport option for students.  This IS particularly important in Girls schools where there are few winter sports offered.

SATURDAY MISSOURI
HIGH SCHOOL JV3 & MIDDLE SCHOOL LEAGUE

In response to the growing number of players within the Missouri High School Racquetball Association, the league has created the Saturday MOHSRA JV3 & Middle School League.

WHAT IS IT and
WHO IS IT FOR?

The JV3 & Middle School League serves as another level of play for the Missouri High School Racquetball Program.   In an effort to develop players for the future and not restrict participation in the league, the JV3 League serves as a level that precedes JV2, JV1, and Varsity team leagues.  In addition, it functions as a means for high school players without full teams to participate in the Missouri High School Racquetball Program.  It is also an option for students who are cut from teams at schools with roster limitations.  Anyone in high school that isn’t on a Varsity, JV1, or JV2 Team can participate.  It serves the purpose of being a 'competitive' option for schools that don't wish to field a Varsity Team but would like to introduce a 'life sport' at their school.  Some schools could even have students participate to fulfill a Physical Education requirement (depends on the participating school's requirements).  The best part is, the students will still be representing and competing on behalf of their school.

The Middle School portion of the League allows for kids to begin competing prior to High School. This creates depth in the future at the high school level and allows the sport of racquetball to be exposed to an even larger audience.  The Middle School players have their own challenge ladder separate from the high school students, and participate in an exclusive Middle School division during league tournaments

WHEN DOES
THE HIGH SCHOOL
RACQUETBALL LEAGUE TAKE PLACE?

  • Typically Varsity, JV1, & JV2 matches take place on weekdays after school (once or twice a week), between 3:30 – 5:30 PM, November-February in racquetball facilities around the St. Louis area.

  • JV3 & Middle School ladder matches take place on Saturday mornings/afternoons, November-February at either Vetta Sports Concord or MAC-West.  New players and schools without full teams have the option to enter the MOHSRA JV3 & Middle School League.

  • Tournaments are held each month November-February.

    • The Top Seed Tournament is in November. The top 3 seeds on Varsity play in the Top Seed Singles.

    • Winter Rollout is a singles tournament for all league players in December.

    • The Doubles Tournament is the only tournament in January.  All of your team members are eligible to play in the Doubles tournament in Doubles and/or Mixed Doubles.

    • The league playoffs/State Tournament is in February for all eligible league players who have participated in 50% of league matches

  • Practices can take place at times & locations determined by the coaches and the school.  Teams may start practicing as soon as they decide on a home racquetball club. To set up practice sessions contact the manager of your home racquetball club and times can be arranged according to their court availability.

  • The league playoff at the end of the session in February for each league division is scheduled as follows:

    • JV3 & Middle School State is Presidents Day Weekend.

    • Boys Varsity, JV1, & JV2 State is the following Saturday.

    • Girls Varsity, JV2, & JV2 State is the following Sunday.
